Steven Osowski is a professional artist who specializes in showing all aspects of
architectural, engineering, and construction projects through digital illustration.

 

Born on the northwest side of Chicago, Steven at an early age shared in his parents’ appreciation
for the arts, the city, its museums, galleries, theaters and beautiful lakefront. Unknowingly, this early
exposure was the spark that ignited Steven’s interests which propelled him toward the artist he is today.

 

By growing up with construction sets, paint by number and model building kits, not to mention having
a father who was an extremely creative artist, it’s no surprise that Steven’s career foundation was being laid.

 

In high school, Steven won third place by accepting an invitation requesting local area high schools
to participate in an architectural drafting competition, hosted by the Illinois Institute of Technology.
His interests in art and the building trades, continued throughout high school, extending into his college years. Steven earned an associates degree in architectural drafting from Wilbur Wright College, and an associates degree in commercial art from the American Academy of Art. His formal training included drafting, blueprint reading, perspective, lighting, color, and graphic design.

 

Fresh out of art school, his first career stop was working for a small privately owned advertising firm

creating print ads, and story boards intended for television commercials. Next stop, Steven was hired by a leading engineering firm known globally today as Parsons, to fill a marker rendering position that gave him the opportunity to grow in his original field of interest, technical illustration combined with graphic design.

 

Steven worked on a wide array of construction projects. With years of experience he became proficient

using Adobe Illustrator to create many charts, detailed drawings, and highway improvement maps.
He was also responsible for creating photorealistic representations of proposed highway, bridge, tunnel, railroad, and aviation projects. Before displaying the final rendering of a proposed project, working directly with project managers, proposal coordinators, engineering CAD plans and 3D modeling, was essential.  Mastery of creating photorealistic renderings using Adobe Photoshop earned Steven the lead position in acquiring key rendering assignments for multi-million dollar transportation projects.
